What is Scapa PIB Sheeting?
Scapa PIB sheeting is a waterproof polyisobutylene rubber sheet used as a weatherproof covering for insulated pipework and ventilation ductwork.PIB is designed to protect thermal insulation from weather exposure, moisture ingress and mechanical wear. It is particularly useful where contractors need a flexible covering that can be cut, formed and welded around straight runs, bends, joints and awkward shapes on site.
This product is supplied as a black 0.8mm PIB sheet with chalk/talc interleave to help with easy unwind and handling.

PIB sheeting is used as a protective weatherproof membrane over thermal insulation. It is suitable for pipework, ventilation trunking and insulation details where a flexible outer covering is required.

Installation and Handling
PIB is practical for site work because it can be cut, shaped and solvent welded around pipework and ductwork details.PIB sheeting can be formed around straight runs, joints and more demanding insulation shapes. It is typically installed using solvent welding, which means no special adhesives are required for the PIB sheet joints.
For best performance, the roll should be stored in its original packaging, horizontally, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Once opened, it should be used promptly and kept resealed in the original packaging where possible.
