At Insulation & More, we don’t just supply trace‑heating materials - we believe in building expertise. That’s why we host hands‑on trace‑heating workshops right in our factory, training the next generation of installers in real-world, practical skills.
What Happens in Our Workshop
1. Cable Preparation & Management
In our training sessions, participants learn the correct way to prepare and connect trace‑heating cables. We walk them through the wiring of trace‑heating boxes and controllers, using the Smart‑Guard Electric Trace Heating Controller as a real example. This ensures not only that installations are effective, but that they meet high safety and regulatory standards.
2. Lagging Installation
We teach best practice for lagging: cutting, shaping, taping, and sealing insulation (we used fiberglass insulation in our recent workshop). Attendees practise applying insulation to different kinds of pipework and fittings, achieving a tight, efficient finish that improves thermal performance and system reliability.
3. Cladding & Finishing
To protect the trace‑heated system over the long term, we guide learners through applying protective cladding. In our session, aluminium cladding was used to demonstrate how to secure, finish, and weatherproof the lagged system professionally.

Our Commitment
We’re passionate about building knowledge and capability in the insulation and trace‑heating sectors. Following the success of our first workshop with Fire Protect Services, we’re planning to run more regular technical training sessions across the UK.
