What is Rockwool Foil Faced Pipe Insulation?

This product is used to insulate pipework on heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. The mineral wool core helps reduce heat loss, support acoustic performance and provide fire-resistance benefits, while the foil facing helps create a neat finish and supports vapour-control detailing when joints are correctly sealed.

The pre-slit section is designed to open around the pipe, close around the outside diameter and seal along the foil lap without needing to cut pipe insulation from flat sheet material.

How to Apply Rockwool Foil Faced Pipe Insulation

Rockwool foil faced pipe insulation is designed to be quick and practical to fit on straight pipe runs. The pre-formed section opens around the pipe, while the self-adhesive foil lap helps close the insulation neatly along the length of the section.

Fit Around the Pipe

Peel and Seal the Foil Lap

Remove the backing from the self-adhesive foil lap and press it down along the full length of the insulation section.

Seal the Joints

Use suitable aluminium foil tape on joints, ends and details to help maintain a neat sealed finish.
