Rubber Pipe Insulation – Flexible, Durable Thermal Protection

Our Rubber Pipe Insulation Collection features a range of closed-cell elastomeric foam tubes designed to deliver reliable thermal insulation, condensation control, and mechanical protection across a wide variety of systems. These products are widely used in both residential and commercial settings, including HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and industrial applications.

Material Composition and Performance

Rubber pipe insulation is manufactured from synthetic elastomers, typically based on nitrile rubber (NBR) or EPDM blends, offering excellent flexibility and resilience. While “rubber pipe insulation” and “nitrile rubber insulation” are technically distinct, the terms are often used interchangeably due to their similar performance characteristics.

Nitrile rubber is especially valued for its resistance to oils, fuels, and industrial chemicals, making it suitable for environments where such exposures are common. The closed-cell structure of the foam provides a low thermal conductivity, typically around 0.033–0.040 W/m·K, helping to reduce energy loss and maintain system efficiency.

Product Features

  • Pre-formed tubular sections, slit lengthwise for easy installation
  • Available in a wide range of internal diameters and wall thicknesses
  • UV-resistant, suitable for indoor and outdoor use
  • Water vapor diffusion resistance: μ ≥ 7,000 for effective condensation control
  • Temperature range: –50 °C to +105 °C (varies by product)
  • Fire classification: Meets EN 13501-1 standards (Euroclass B-s3, d0 or better depending on product)

Applications

  • HVAC systems: Insulating chilled water and refrigerant lines
  • Hot water pipes: Preventing heat loss and improving energy efficiency
  • Refrigeration systems: Controlling condensation and reducing pipe sweating
  • Industrial piping: Protecting against chemical exposure and mechanical damage
  • Residential plumbing: Frost protection and noise reduction

Benefits

  • Energy savings through reduced thermal losses
  • Condensation control to prevent moisture buildup and corrosion
  • Noise dampening for quieter system operation
  • Ease of installation with flexible, pre-slit tubes
  • Long-term durability with minimal maintenance requirements

Sustainability and Safety

Many rubber insulation products in this collection are halogen-free, low-VOC, and compliant with green building standards such as BREEAM, LEED, and DGNB. Their closed-cell structure also helps prevent mold growth and supports healthier indoor environments.
