PIB Welding Agent 2.5L

PIB Welding Agent 2.5L is a solvent-based welding agent designed for joining overlaps, seams and joints in polyisobutylene (PIB) insulation cladding.

Applied to mating PIB surfaces, the welding agent softens the material so the two surfaces can be pressed together to form a secure solvent-welded joint. It is particularly suited to weatherproof finishes around insulated pipework, ductwork and associated fittings.

How to Apply PIB Welding Agent

  1. Cut and position the PIB sheeting around the already secured insulation.
  2. Apply a small amount of welding agent to both mating surfaces using a suitable stiff brush.
  3. Work the solvent across the surfaces until the PIB becomes tacky.
  4. Press the two surfaces firmly together to create the solvent-welded joint.
Important: Avoid excessive application. Too much solvent can continue to soften the PIB after the joint has been formed and may affect the finished weld.
