Siniat Moisture Board is a plasterboard designed to provide protection against moisture damage in areas with high humidity such as kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms. The board is made of aerated calcium sulfate di-hydrate with fillers, and moisture-resistant additives enclosed inside liners made from recycled waste paper with bound edges. The core and papers are bonded with starch, and the edge glue is PVA.
The board is coloured green on both faces and features a taper down the long edges, with the name and batch number written at the back and on the long edges. It is simple to use, with no need for power tools or dust extraction, just score and snap the board. Siniat Moisture Board complies with BS EN520:2004+A1:2009 Type H2 and has a reaction to fire rating of Euroclass A2-s1, d0.
The board has a flexural strength of ≥550 N longitudinal breaking load and ≥ 210 N transverse breaking load. It has a moisture content of less than 2% and a mass of 9.0 kg/m2 for the 12.5mm board and 11.9 kg/m2 for the 15mm board. It has a thermal conductivity of 0.25 W/mK and a thermal resistance of 0.050 m2K/W for the 12.5mm board and 0.060 m2K/W for the 15mm board. The board complies with BS EN 520 Type H2 and has less than 10% water absorption, with a water vapour resistance factor of µ = 10.
- Applications: Suitable for kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms. Boards should be primed with Siniat Universal Sealer prior to decorating and treated with PVA bonding agent before plastering.
